Sohail
From an early age, I have been fascinated with understanding how things work, often taking them apart to learn their intricacies. In 1996, I moved from Gaza, Palestine, to the United States. Just three years later, I filed my first patent for an electronic mailbox notification system.
My career began as an electrician, where I honed my skills and expanded my knowledge in the electrical trade, eventually becoming a general contractor. This foundation in the trades led to a significant breakthrough in 2008, when I invented the Magic Stud Finder and founded Biary Innovation.
Driven by a passion for sustainable energy, I later established Sun Smart Solar, a company dedicated to delivering solar power solutions to both residential and commercial properties. My commitment to innovation continues as I strive to identify and solve problems both at work and at home.
Khalid
From as far back as I can remember, I have always been profoundly interested in machinery and technology. Like my father, Sohail, I would disassemble my toys to understand their inner workings. Around the age of seven, I discovered my passion for aviation. Knowing how expensive flight school would be, I was always on the lookout for ways to earn money. I often accompanied my dad to work on weekends, where I gained exposure to fixing things and working with tools.
In my early teenage years, I started a receipt printer repair business, which kept me occupied for a while. A few years later, I launched my own aviation-oriented affiliate marketing company, marking my first attempt to earn money in the field of aviation. After finishing high school, I put myself through college and flight school by becoming an insurance agent at 18 years old. Two years later, I earned my certified flight instructor certificate and began teaching people how to fly.
Today, I am a major airline pilot who continues to enjoy fixing things, building things, and learning new skills. One of the greatest joys of my journey is being able to share my passion for aviation and innovation with my father and father-in-law, Todd. It is incredibly fulfilling to bond over shared interests and to see the same curiosity and enthusiasm in their eyes that I have always felt. Our mutual love for understanding how things work and making improvements has strengthened our relationships and enriched our lives.
Todd
One of my main philosophies in life is – if you can’t find what you need, MAKE IT YOURSELF! Design innovation, organization, efficiency, and documentation are among the most prevalent skills within my expertise, and I am blessed enough to have some innate abilities to make things out of wood, metal, plastic, and other materials. I always look for ways to make improvements at work and home while doing anything from manufacturing and designing products to folding laundry and washing dishes.
I have a deep appreciation of good effort and excellence from myself and people around me that has developed over time from my exposure in businesses big and small in various industries and areas. My career has included Technical Writing at precision equipment manufacturing companies such as Strasbaugh, Newport Corporation and one of Lockheed Martin’s Space Mission Systems divisions, Engineering and Project Management at Micro Solutions Enterprises and Revolution Lighting Technologies, and Operations Management at Mason Controls in the aerospace industry.
It is an incredible honor to be able to work so closely with my business partners to construct a company that will allow each of us to realize our dreams while expressing our technical and creative prowess in our unique products. SKT Innovations is the realization and culmination of all my life’s experiences working to help my business partners, my son-in-law, Khalid, and his father, Sohail, build and grow SKT Innovations to develop, design, manufacture, and offer our products to help others with our life-derived problem solutions.
